The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) released new surveillance footage showing a suspect in the placing of two pipe bombs at the headquarters of the Republican National Committee (RNC) and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) on the evening before the US Capitol insurrection.
The FBI, together with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), is offering a reward of $100,000 for information leading to the identification of the person suspected of planting the bombs on the night of January 5.
In the videos posted on the FBI’s website on Tuesday, a person wearing a gray hoodie, a white face mask, black pants, and black gloves is seen walking and carrying a backpack in their hand in DC’s Capitol Hill neighborhood on January 5, 2021, between 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm EST.
The suspect stops walking and puts the backpack on the side of the sidewalk and looks around, and then picks it back up, sits on a bench, walks past the entrance of the Capitol Hill Club in various scenes of the footage.
