A man was killed after the truck he was driving fell into the Potomac River in northwest D.C. early on Tuesday.
The driver was reportedly seen “frantically trying to escape” from his vehicle while it plunged into the water, according to Fox 5 D.C., which attributed the information to authorities.
D.C. police found the body that was still inside the truck submerged in the river.
Metropolitan Police received a phone call shortly after midnight from a U.S. Secret Service officer, who spotted a truck pulled into the river near Thompson’s Boathouse in the Georgetown area.
