If you are into urban farming and have some free time on Saturday, June 27, you are very welcome to join a group of volunteers at H. St. Farms, a rooftop garden on top of W.S. Jenks Hardware.
“A unique rooftop growing area that utilizes DC’s unused space. With three greenhouses and many plants, we encourage you to come to get involved and have a try at a green thumb! Sign up with us today!” the event brief says.
Participants are asked to wear clothes that they don’t mind getting dirty and dress appropriately for the weather to be outdoors.
The garden is located at 910 Bladensburg Road, Northeast DC. Organized by Cultivate the City, the event takes place every Saturday. There is no entrance fee.
Cultivate the City is an urban farming company based in DC.
