DC Residents Can Apply for American Idol Audition

-

American Idol is coming to Washington, D.C.’s Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center on September 4, as part of the renewed show’s auditions for its third season.

If you are interested in being a contestant, be at 1300 Pennsylvania Ave NW before 9:00 a.m. this Wednesday. But keep in mind that registration is needed before showing up at the audition.

You can submit an online application here or sign up for auditioning in person. Possible contestants must be between 15 and 28. However, if you are younger than 18, your parent or legal guardian is required to register on behalf of you.

Videos on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Twitter are also accepted by the show as online auditions. You can find further details about digital submissions here.

The singing competition has been touring around the country in order to collect potential candidates. On September 1, many singers gathered in front of the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh, North Carolina.

A renewed version of the show started on ABC last year, after airing 15 seasons on Fox between 2002 and 2016. The competition’s age limit was between 16 and 24 until the fourth season, which became 15 to 28 in the following seasons.
