Two men were shot in a Northwest DC apartment on Thanksgiving morning and one of them died, the Metropolitan Police Police Department (MPD) said in a press release.
The incident took place in the 2900 block of Connecticut Avenue at around 9:30 am on Thursday.
Members of MPD’s Second District responded to the location after receiving a call about an unconscious person. They found a man inside the apartment suffering from a gunshot wound.
DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived at the scene, as well, and found no signs consistent with life after examining the man. He was later transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Another male victim, also suffering from a gunshot wound, was found in the hallway. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. His injuries were reportedly non-life threatening.
The decedent has been identified as Edward Pearson, a 39 year-old man of no fixed address.

MPD currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information helping the arrest and conviction of a person responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
